Elongate Laptop Battery's Life

Laptop batteries are of 3 types - Nickel Cadmium (NiCd), Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) and Lithium Ion (LiON). They differ in cost, weight and specific features.
Lithium Ion (LiON) laptop batteries are normally recommended to use in technically advanced laptops. These batteries are powerful enough to run laptops plus accessories, such as mp3 players, DVD players and USB devices.
They are lighter than NiCd and NiMH batteries and have not got any memory effect.
If used in the proper way, LiON batteries are expected to run for around three years, but it is important to clarify that the three-year period of time starts when batteries are actually manufactured and not when they are actually exploited. A battery needs to be replaced when the PC cannot run any longer unless attached to the main supply through an adapter. Below are some guidelines to prolong battery's longevity.
• Avoid frequent complete discharges, since this puts added strain on a pc battery. Several partial discharges with frequent recharges are preferable for lithium-ion batteries than a full discharge. Recharging partially charged lithium-ion batteries is secure, since they have no memory. Short laptop battery's life in a laptop commonly depends on the high temperatures rather than charge - discharge patterns.
• It is advisable to fully discharge a laptop battery after 30 charges. Otherwise, the fuel gauge will get significantly less accurate and in some cases will cut off the device prematurely.
• Keep a lithium-ion laptop battery cool.
• Remove a pc battery from a laptop when it is run on a fixed power. (Some laptop producers express concern for dust and moisture that gather inside the pc battery casing.)
• Avoid purchasing spare LiON batteries for later deployment. Pay special attention to manufacturing dates. Do not buy old stock, even if it is available at lower prices.
• If you have got a spare LiON laptop battery, use one to the full and keep the other one cool by putting it into the fridge. Do not freeze the laptop battery. For optimal results, store the battery at 40% state-of-charge.
Before using any laptop, read a manual instruction supplied.

比我想象中快的多了！
我的电脑电池出现了状况，突然电池容量由100%降到50%，而且有一个信息告诉我我的电池并不能够充100%的电量。那我的老公起初就说我不会用电池，搞到电池那么快出现问题，但是后来他上Lenovo的网页，发现原来是某些电池的的确是有问题的，而Lenovo愿意寄一个新的代替那坏的电池。
那就跟着Lenovo网页的一些步骤去检查我是否可以得到一个新的电池。怎么知道，经过了Battery Diagnostic Tool 之后，我的电池不被当作有问题。但是我的问题就大了！如果我的电池不被当作有问题，我怎么样可以换一个新的呢？
结果，经过了一些时间，一直地尝试Reset Battery以后，与上个星期四，我的电池容量由50%降到30%！然后我就在尝试运行Battery Diagnostic Tool，我的电池终于被当作是有问题的了！而Lenovo将会马上寄一个新的电池给我！
我其实一直担心，从美国寄过来需要至少两个礼拜的时间吧，盼望还来得及。我其实得通知办公室的同事将会有电池寄过来。但是由于是Weekend，让我等到Lenovo给我Shipment Confirmation的电邮在告诉她也不迟吧！
结果今天星期一， 我们早上去了医院，晚上回来的时候，我就看到桌上有一个包裹，上面写着我的名字！哦，不超过一个星期，我的新电池已经由美国寄过来了！Yeahoo!!!
